The route includes the city’s most interesting monuments, such as the Roman Minor Basilica of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Gothic parish church of St. Nicholas, the neo-Roman church of the Annunciation of Our Lady, and the remains of Gothic defensive walls.
There are historical houses on the route, too. The most important of them all is located in Kościuszki Street, on the spot of a medieval weighhouse. Remains of 14th-century walls and a Gothic twin-chamber cellar have been preserved to the present day. The oldest complete house, over 200 years old, is situated at Klasztorny Square. It used to be the starost’s seat and later served as a branch of the People's Bank. A slightly newer neoclassical tenement house of the Czabański family, also known as the ‘Golden Corner’, is situated in a central part of the town, on the corner of Solankowa St. and Królowej Jadwigi St.
Walking along Solankowa Street, you will go past a beautiful neoromantic palace built in 1896. It is where in 2007 the Jan Kasprowicz Museum was founded. The museum holds permanent exhibitions honouring two poets of the Young Poland modernist period, i.e. Jan Kasprowicz and Stanisław Przybyszewski. Visitors can also visit temporary exhibitions and take part in occasional folk art fairs, usually held before festive seasons.
Other public buildings worth taking a look at while walking with a guide include: a modernist edifice of Bank Spółdzielczy, a more than 100 years old neoromantic courthouse, and a neo-Gothic building complex of the town hall.
